As many of you know, we partnered with New River Valley Sportsmen for Kids this past year for our fishing rodeo, and it was a huge success. They are holding their annual fundraising banquet Oct 25, 2025, 05:00 pm at New River Valley Fairgrounds. If you are interested, tickets may be purchased here

NRV Sportsmen For Kids is a non-profit organization established in 2023. We are based in Dublin, Virginia. Our annual banquet is our only fundraising event of the year. Your ticket purchase to this event provides you with an amazing dinner and drinks. At the banquet we will have a general drawing, women’s drawing, duck pluck, 2-3 card game drawings, kill-grill-and-chill drawing, puppy drawing, 50/50, silent auction, and a live auction. All the money raised at this event, provides us with many different opportunities throughout the year. For 2024 we have been able to give back to the community in the below ways.
- Scholarships: We have awarded 5 $1000 scholarships to local youth in the NRV.
- Spring Youth Turkey Hunt: Taken 3 youth on an all expenses paid turkey hunt. We were able to purchase each of these youth a gun, ammo, hunting clothes, blinds, provided guides, and the land to hunt on. One of the 3 youth killed his first turkey. This is an event we plan to continue to do every year.
- Kids Fishing Day: We stocked a local pond with trout and also have multiple gun/archery stations setup. The kids had the ability to choose what activity they wanted to do as we have this event all day. We also were able to provide lunch and ice-cream to everyone in attendance.
- Fall Youth Deer Hunt: We will take 3-5 youth on an all expenses paid deer hunt this fall. We will purchase each youth a gun, hunting clothes, blinds, provide guides and the land to hunt on as well.
- Donations/Sponsorships: We have also given back to all of the below programs. We plan to continue to do so throughout the year.
- 4H- Dublin VA, RU Skeet Club, NRV Tigers, Montgomery County Christmas Store, City of Refuge, Pulaski Foster Care Christmas “Angel Tree”, DUMC Backpack Program, Pulaski County Christmas Store, Belle Heath Christmas Store, SWVA Bassin, Youth entry fees for turkey competition in the NRV.
